OnMeta and QazPost Join Hands to Explore Digital Finance Opportunities in Kazakhstan

Business Head
On October 2, 2026, OnMeta signed a Memorandum of Understanding with QazPost, Kazakhstan’s national postal operator and financial services network, on the sidelines of the AI & Digital Bridge 2026 forum in Astana.
The MoU brings the two organisations together to explore new digital financial solutions for consumers and businesses across Kazakhstan. This includes assessing opportunities to provide access to digital assets through QazPost’s existing digital ecosystem.
The collaboration comes at a time when digital financial services are becoming an increasingly important part of how people transact, transfer money and access financial products. But expanding access is not simply a matter of introducing new technology. It also depends on making that technology available through channels that people already use and trust.
Combining Nationwide Reach With Digital Financial Infrastructure
QazPost serves communities across Kazakhstan, including major cities as well as remote and rural areas. Its presence across postal, logistics and financial services has made it an established part of the country’s everyday infrastructure.
The MoU creates an opportunity to explore how this existing reach can support new digital financial experiences.
As part of the collaboration, OnMeta and QazPost will assess potential use cases and determine what would be required to bring them to market responsibly. One area under consideration is the potential integration of relevant OnMeta solutions into the QazPost mobile application. The work will go beyond the product experience itself. Both organisations will also examine the technological architecture, compliance considerations and infrastructure required to support potential integrations.
Under the MoU, OnMeta and QazPost intend to exchange information and expertise, conduct consultations and jointly identify potential areas for future development. This process will help determine which opportunities are suitable for QazPost’s digital ecosystem and how they could be developed further.
Thillainayagam Bharath, Founder and CEO of OnMeta, highlighted the importance of trusted institutions in bringing emerging financial services to a wider audience:
“Technology alone does not create mass adoption. People adopt new age financial services through institutions they already trust, and QazPost has earned that trust in every corner of the country.”
For QazPost, the immediate focus is similarly exploratory.
Bekezhan Zhakeyev, Chairman of the Board of Kazpost JSC, said the collaboration provides an opportunity to examine new technological solutions and how they could be applied in Kazakhstan. At this stage, the priority is to assess possible integration models, technological requirements and regulatory considerations.
Building Around Practical Customer Needs
A central consideration for the collaboration will be the customer experience.
Consumers and businesses should not need to understand the complexity of the infrastructure operating behind a digital financial service. What matters to the customer is whether a transaction becomes easier, a transfer becomes simpler or a financial product becomes more convenient to access.
The collaboration will therefore begin by identifying practical customer needs and assessing where digital infrastructure can meaningfully support them. Compliance and operational requirements will be considered alongside the technology rather than treated as separate considerations later in the process. This approach will help both organisations evaluate opportunities based not only on what technology makes possible, but on what can create a useful and accessible financial experience for people across Kazakhstan.
What Comes Next for the OnMeta and QazPost Collaboration
The first phase of the collaboration will focus on identifying priority use cases and developing a roadmap for potential implementation.
The MoU does not represent an immediate commercial rollout. Any future implementation will depend on the findings of these assessments, applicable regulatory requirements and separate agreements between OnMeta and QazPost.
For OnMeta and QazPost, the agreement marks the beginning of that exploration: bringing together QazPost’s nationwide presence and OnMeta’s digital infrastructure to assess how new financial services could become more accessible to consumers and businesses across Kazakhstan.
